FAQs
How do you grade painting quality?
Masterfully Painted - These are pieces of exceptional quality, usually crafted with special attention to detail by an experienced artist. We rarely classify our pieces with this grade. They are meant to inspire an audible "Wow".
Artist/Studio Painted - These pieces are purchased directly or second-hand from both established artists with well-known studios and quieter artists known or becoming established in their local areas. The model will be very well executed. They are made to impress.
Well Painted - Someone who knew what they were doing painted the model. It will have few, if any, errors, and will display a few more challenging techniques. Your friends will see the model, be impressed, and ask how you painted it. The base is usually well finished, but sometimes we assign this grade to an unfinished base if the overall model quality is high.
Basic Painted - A real human applied paint to the model. There will be little in the way of complex techniques, and the methods used may have visible errors. But it's there, it's painted, and you can play with it right away. The base may or may not be complete.
Partially Painted - Someone started painting the model but found something else to do with their life before finishing. The model will need some work before you feel proper playing it.
Ready to Paint - These are grey legion, unpainted models that you can customize with whatever colors and details you want.
What guarantees do you offer on your products?
Arrive Intact - We take pride in our packaging and guarantee that your models will get to you intact. If something breaks in transit, reach out to support@thegrimdarkemporium.com, and you can send it back for a full refund.
No Knock-offs - We guarantee that the models we sell are authentic. All of our models are second-hand purchases from artists and hobbyists, and occasionally, someone will pass on forgeries. Generally, these fakes have the wrong weight or flexibility, or use the wrong fonts in stamped writing. We screen for this, and when we find them, we remove them from circulation. If you get a model and suspect our screening might have missed one, please contact support@thegrimdarkemporium.com and we'll work with you to make it right.
What is your return policy?
Returns are accepted for defective products only, such as damage during transit. Please contact support@thegrimdarkemporium.com if you need to start a return.
